Testing site issues

I am scheduled next Sat for my CPC retake....a little stressed about the location where I am taking the test because someone on the AAPC face book forum posted the location as "deplorable". She tested at same location I am on 12/7.
She stated everyone was on top of each other, tables sticky, chairs not high enough for tables...1 bathroom with no toilet paper..many distractions including phones ringing.....apparently the location is held at a homeless shelter. She did call AAPC and complained and will not have to pay for her retake ....AAPC said proctor will look for another exam site. I also called AAPC during the week and they said I will be notified if the location changes and I can call proctor if I have any questions.....Just is....the time is ticking..are they really going to find an ideal location to house 30 people...:( I really wanted to retest in 2013......I went to library today just wondering if I am even going to take this test next week...I know my stuff but don't want to have to deal with added stress as an uncomfortable location.....:(((

Oh dear. I have heard of bad testing sites but that doesn't sound like fun at all. The only thing I can advise is to stay on it.

OMG Rosetta. Hopefully they will find another exam site. I can't believe that they had the exam in that location with all that distraction. Surely they can find somewhere else to house 30 people. Keep us posted. I will say a prayer that they will find another place for u to go. Yes, you do not need that kind of stress.

I'm sorry you are in NY. I occasionally proctor exams in my office in MA where I test only 1-6 people and it very quiet, clean, and modern.
Not sure if this will help you for the future, but if it is something to consider, I am in Wilmington, MA- 15-20 minutes north of Boston.

The testing location was changed so it all worked out----it is so hard to find a convenient location near me---and I live near NYC not in some rural part of the country----still waiting for results so hopefully I won't have to worry about testing again unless I go for another certification---If I pass I will look into creating a "chapter" in my area and have more convenient testing locations in my neck of the woods :)

Rosetta,
I think that is a great ideal to start a chapter in your area.
